ANDES (Highlands)
Andes, Inter-Andean or Serranías is a geographical region of the Republic of Ecuador that extends from north to south through the Andes, its height usually ranges from 1800 m or less, to 6268 m with the Chimborazo. This region is rich and incomparable in flora, fauna, culture, it is the most visited region in Ecuador for its diversity.
GALAPAGOS (islands)
Declared by UNESCO as a Natural Heritage of Humanity in 1979 it is our largest letter of introduction, Galapagos is located 972 km from the Ecuadorian continental coast and constitutes one of the most important national parks on the planet. The unique endemic and native flora and fauna in the world make the Galapagos Islands an exceptional place. More than 45 species of endemic birds, 42 of reptiles, 15 of mammals and 79 of fish, live in Galapagos and coexist harmoniously with humans.
COAST (Beach)
Also known as the littoral region or simply as the Coast, it is one of the four geographical regions in which the Republic of Ecuador is divided. It is located between the Andes mountain range and the Pacific Ocean. Forests, mangroves and beautiful beaches are part of this region where a wide variety of products from the sea and land are obtained such as bananas, cocoa, shrimp and tuna that are combined with the culinary traditions of its people to create the richest and most diverse gastronomy of the country.
AMAZON (rainforest)
Or also known as the Amazon region of Ecuador, it is a geographical region of Ecuador for an approximate area of 120,000 km² of the Amazon, In this region is the Yasuní National Park, the same one that extends over an area of 9820 square kilometers, designated by UNESCO in 1989 as a Biosphere Reserve and is part of the territory where the Huaorani people are found. It is considered the most biodiverse area on the planet for its richness in amphibians, birds, mammals and plants. This park has more species of animals per hectare than all of Europe put together, studies speak of 150 species of amphibians, 121 of reptiles, 598 species of birds, between 169 (confirmed) and 204 (estimated) mammals, and flora They have identified 2,113 species and it is estimated that there are around 3,100. The term Yasuní, without knowing its linguistic origin, means «sacred land» as it is generally interpreted by communities in the area.
